Mr&MrsHarmon.April2012.

We were all a bit nervous about the ominous clouds.

"Rain is good luck" they say. But let's be honest, it's a little disheartening to think of the day you've planned months, maybe years for, includes rain. No one really plans for that. But it did rain. Only for a few moments and we are able to capture a couple really neat pictures of our couple in the rain.  Even better, we were able to capture tons of images in what turned out to be a pretty great spring day.

Here are just a few of the images from this newly weds' day.

and btw, MAD props to my new assistant Allie McLaughlin for getting some amazing candids!!

I'm a pioneer, woman.

I do not aspire to be The Pioneer Woman. Though I am a woman, who is a (Mooresville) Pioneer.

I live on a "farm" as we lovingly refer to it. Though we only have dogs, small vegetable gardens, and a horse (this summer).

btw. This is Mowgli (we name our animals after Disney characters. "Bagheera" met her untimely death last fall. More on that story another day.)
This is the 'big barn'. We use it mostly for family gatherings, birthday parties and storage for big equipment. Currently it's housing VBS backdrops that are UH-mazing! (more on that another day as well)

We do however, lease out land to a real farmer. They usually plant feed corn which is mostly enjoyed as a barrier around our property in the summer and a maze for my kids in the fall.

this is one of the farmers just moments ago literally in our front yard.

We've considered chickens. I dry heave a little bit.

Then I realize I can buy organic eggs and chicken fairly easy 'round these parts.

I enjoy gardening (until it's over 90*).
I have added to this years' garden, a plan for lettuce, potatoes, cucumbers, parsley, basil, oregano and pole beans. Last year my harvest was mostly cucumber and zucchini.

Rabbits and some type of "blight" I'm told, claimed my tomatoes, strawberries and blueberries.

I am not a great cook, though I enjoy it (when someone else cleans up after...). Cooking from scratch happens on a rare occasion. baking I love.

I do not hang laundry on a line to dry. That grosses me out. Bugs, allergens and birds freak me out.
(oh and there I am in reflection of the dryer!)

To sum up...I'm no pioneer woman.

Blake+Liz=BLIZ

Yes, they have a hollywood name mash-up. As they should. They even have the feel of an old hollywood couple.

She's elegant. He's classic.

God blessed us with a beautiful mid-March day. It was sunny and a touch breezy.

The girls were beautiful in deep purple and the boys handsome in black and white.

Both sets of parents were doting. An uncle was crying. It was a great ceremony made special with an intimate tribute by the groom's father. All 4 siblings stood up in agreement at the union.

The reception was true to 'Hudson/Faulkner' style with much dancing, laughing and great food.

All-in-all, the day the bride had dreamt and planned for her whole life. And I am honored to have been asked to capture the day in images that I hope they cherish for a lifetime and more.

Here's to you Blake and Liz...God bless you!

There is nothing I love more than being behind a camera capturing life’s moments - wonderful, funny, messy, precious, indescribable, irreplaceable, memorable moments.
