I hate fundraising so I decided gave it up to God and instead of letters to ask for money I am doing some photography sessions that 100% raised goes to Mt. Gilead towards my goal. Next Saturday the 10th I will be doing a **special** Gold couch session...msg me to find out more.

My hubby and 15 family members and endless friends are totally taking care of it.

-Flying.
I HATE TO FLY. I am not afraid of the flying, but the enclosed space you must stay during the flight. I am still working on this through prayer and petition to God to calm my spirit and anxiety. (God's taking care of it)

So expect to find my blog filled in late winter with pictures of the gorgeous faces God will have me capture during my adventure.

I cannot believe how the last 4 years have flown by with my little "adventure" in photography.

I have always loved taking pictures. But that's not what drives me to continue.

I have always loved color and creativity, but that's not why I am still interested.

I love PEOPLE. I love families. babies. weddings. children. new love. OLD love. dogs.

I love the moments. And I am grateful to capture those moments for you, to capture who you are right now as a family.

Please know I take our time and your trust in me VERY seriously. That's why I still get nervous before EVERY shoot. Every time. I want you to love them.

So this little guy is totally cute. I can't believe it's already been 7 months since he peed on my props at his newborn shoot:)

We got a gorgeous day to shoot and shoot we did!

Aunt Sarah came along to help wrangle both Kaiden and his big brother Malakai. We got some great shots of both of them and had a blast doing it. Thanks Carah and Cruse boys for hanging out with me again. I hope we can do this for years to come:)

Again, these are NOT professional models. They are gorgeous young family that I had the privilege to photograph a few weekends back.

It was getting muggy quick during this session but you can't tell by looking at them.

Lisa (mom), who is also an amazing author, and I met through a mutual friend and colleague (Crystal Patriarche). I had the honor of shooting a book cover for one of her Liz Fenton's latest books.

Long story short she had a gorgeous baby in January and needed updated family pics and that's that.

Nope you're not looking at a Gap catalog. This is the Beier family. It's just the way they look. Those blue eyes, blonde hair...ahhh! I could have shot images of these guys ALL DAY...but it was hot and muggy...

This photo shoot was one of "charmed" type of sessions. That are last minute, shoot-from-the-hip, worked out perfect type of deals.

Our family was headed to Chicago to do another pre-planned shoot, go to American Girl, hit up the Lego store, & get in our last summer hoorah. (BTW-my high school English teachers would be so disappointed right now...sorry Mrs. Yoke and Mrs. Yeager!)

We saw each other a few weeks before and I mentioned us coming up. She said she thought they were in town that weekend and the rest as they say...

I met Courtney a few years ago when I was coaching JV softball. She is one of the most outgoing, fun loving girls I've met. She has a big heart and a BIG MOUTH! LOL! Sorry Court:)

The Hill Family

Toby and Amy serve in Honduras as missionaries at the Merendon Mountain Mission. Our church is proud to support what they are doing to spread the gospel there.

They have 3 adorable children who love their parents, soccer and each other (probably in that order, for now).

They were only home for a short time and in Mooresville for just a few days as they travel domestically visiting all their supporting churches. I was so glad and honored to photograph their adorable, fun-loving family!

Thanks Toby and Amy for answering God's call in your life and taking the love of Jesus to those who desperately want to hear it!

I have known the Bain's since junior high. They are a gorgeous couple inside and out. They are back from a few years of following God's call and I for one couldn't be happier that their family is home in Indiana. They are raising an amazing little family in the Lord and doing a terrific job of it!

Jeff and I's families have been good friends for years. We have gone on lots of good vacations (and then there was Dale Hollow summer 99) together.

I know Carrie as her and my brother went to school together.

So I knew this would be a comfortable, fun and fairly easy shoot.

But I had NO IDEA how easy these two would be to photograph!

They are unbelievably attractive people for one. And they truly love each other. Which comes across in these images.

I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next month and I am sure we will have tons of great images to share with you from that event very soon!

My best friend had her baby girl. So I, drove down to TN to meet her, hold her and photograph her.

This was the day after the "royal wedding" (Faull/McKenzie nuptuals) and the day before I started a marathon few weeks of family, newborn, wedding and child sessions.

She is one of the most photogenic girls I've photographed. She is so hilarious and so sassy.

In just a few weeks she will be a big sister to her new little brother.

We met two weeks in a row at the Long's (thanks Tricia and Larry) and shot in the heat and humidity. I am more than please with the images from both sessions and hope Blaine and Erin are as well.

I can't wait to meet the new little guy and pray everything goes well during and after the delivery.

They make such a picture perfect family and I hope to photograph them for years to come.

After months of Val telling Tyler that it's not usually really hot this time of year in Indiana and that it would be ok....last Saturday was, well...STEAMY.

It was hot. Not warm, HOT.

But it was breezy. The wedding party was amazing! They were so fun and willing to do whatever even if they were sweating in their tuxes and dresses.

Lindsay was stuning. Tyler was handsome. The mom's were gorgeous and dad's charming.

It was a beautiful day all around.

Once again and much to my delight...Gavin and family are back.

He as I have said so many times before, has the best of Jamie inside and out.

And as I teased Chris...the worst of him.

But honestly when you are around the Blackwell's and Loveless', Jamie is not far.

This weekend marks the second annual JBL Golf Outing. I am looking forward to capturing moments again this year with their closest friends and family.

Chris is doing a wonderful job with Gavin and of course the family is there to lend of hand. Both families are gorgeous and loving and are an example of what love is and how it never fades.

Sara and Andrew are obviously adorable. But they are also super hilarious, completely normal and totally in love.

They're wedding is in September and though I am sure it seems forever away to them, it's just around the corner!

I look forward to many years photographing this new family and the "blessings" God will pour onto them in the years and decades to come.

We got so lucky to have a gorgeous and DRY day last week to shoot Truett's one year pics. We headed out to the park and chased, bribed and laughed to get some terrific shots! Well, it's literally been weeks since I shot this, but I am working hard to catch up.

These kids are super photogenic. Full of energy. And fast.

I chased them. Stuck things in my hair and nose to get smiles. And mom and dad didn't break a sweat running around after these guys.

As much as I adore shooting outside in God's unmatched lighting...shooting indoors this winter has been fun!

We aren't ever worried about rain, or too much shadows...

We can dress up.

Play.

Wear what we want.

And stay in a reasonable space and not chase after toddlers.

It's been great and I look forward to new, fun backdrops and props next year!

Some of you may be sick of the abundance of beauty.

I on the otherhand, AM. NOT.

I could look at these images everyday and it would make me smile.

To explain...

I love the Thurman's....LOVE.

As anyone who has spent ANY length of time with either of these families will tell you...these guys were raised right.

In the Lord.

They are not just beautiful to look at...they are a standard by which I will raise my own children.

They love God, each other, their family, friends and people.

She's a freshman at ASU...at 17.

She helps care for the Patriarche kids...with the experience of a mother twice her age. She loves them and they ADORE her.

My friend Crystal has some friends who wanted their family pictures done while were in town. So Janese and I texted back and forth when I touched down in Phoenix. We set it up for last Saturday and met near Chandler.

It worked out so well and we just hopped in and out when I saw something out the window that looked "shoot worthy".

At first, TJ mentioned "he had way better things to do." But I think I won him over after awhile and we were fast friends by the time we were through.

This....

is how I have felt.

So far the last 24 hours I have been hanging at my friend Crystal's in Gilbert.

I am so thankful to have a place to feel at home while I am away from home. She is one of those people who doesn't know how to STOP giving.

I am LOVING spending time with them, especially Caleb.

2011 MHS Senior Kenzie Cobb

Kenzie will graduate this fall and intends on studying Animal Medicine. When her mom first contacted me to do her pictures, she mentioned that she might bring one of her "friends" with her. It wasn't until she showed up with Monte the boa constrictor that I realized exactly what she meant. But it was so much fun to do something so unique and special to her. I think it's actually one of my favorite shots of her!

She is a great kid with a genuine spirit.

She helps out her busy mom. Loves her siblings.

This was my second opportunity to photograph Ms Abby. Her mom, Kasey brought some bright red, pink and polka dot balloons for us to play with. And I was so happy with how they turned out!

Abby is great to work with..

She is a doll.

She is active, but super well-behaved.

Sweet and sassy.

Silly and sometimes serious.

But definitely photogenic!

I have known Kamille and her family since little league softball and basketball. We played volleyball and softball together in high school. Her husband also went to high school with us. We also attend church together.
Her kids are very close in age to mine and I am looking forward to years of church events, school sports, choirs and much more as our young families grow.

Her little guy Denton is charming and adorable.
And miss Lila, well she is just my speed! Spunky and sassy!

We had a ridiculously easy shoot last week and I hope to do it again with the whole family next time!!

So, I LOVE taking kids' pics...It's probably my favorite thing to shoot!

And sometimes the most trying sessions turn out the cutest...this was one of those.

He wasn't mad, sad or throwing any tantrums...He's just 2.

And I miss the 2's. The spunky, stubborn, frustrating, wonderful TWO's!

The Kolb's...back and cuter than ever!

The Kolb kids are ALWAYS ready for a photo shoot. Ms Emma has become quite the little model lately. She is obviously photogenic, but she is also full of ideas of what poses and props are best. I got this message from her momma just a few after our shoot...

"Suni, I just had to tell you this...This afternoon after we got home, I caught Emma in her room taking pictures of her dolls! All along singing to the top of her lungs, My name is Suni! My name is Suni! Then I scared her half to death bc she didn't know I was watching!! LOL..."

I love that!

And of course the newest addition, Ollie, is a camera lover as well. He has bright blue eyes and fair skin just like his gorgeous mama. He was full of smiles and cooperated so very well!

Mr "B" Turns Two...

I have had this session booked since early last fall.

It was my first official shoot of the new year.

It couldn't have been better.

Snow. Sunny skies. Warm breeze. Gorgeous mom. Terrific Dad. Unbelievably easy-to-photograph little man!

I am glad to call Jason and Kiley new friends and hopefully we will keep meeting like this for years to come. Our children will grow up together in church and youth group. It's times like this I am ever thankful for what I am able to do for a living.

A new addition...

No! We are NOT having a baby!

But I did get 3 brand new back/floor drops.

I have a black one for awhile, but now I have a rustic white-washed wood, a swirly hay bail (cooler than it sounds, but not used in this session) and a mod white tile. They are very cool...

Here they are being used as floor drops during Delaney's first indoors shoot...

Christmas at the Mount...

Mt Gilead is a church where God is not just present, He is active.

I cannot begin to tell you the ways in which we have been blessed by our church family. They are an extension of our family. We have served with them, laughed with them, and cried with them. We have watched God do amazing things in both ours' and our friends' lives. We are part of different ministries that we were hoping would bless others and in turn have blessed us.

We LOVE Mt. Gilead!

If you think this year was great stay tuned for 2011...God is moving us to "Go far, Draw Near".

My mind is already spinning about the images that will be captured...I plan on having a front row seat.

Fall Mini-Sessions Wrap Up...

I am so blessed. Living in a small town and having great friends has blessed us beyond our expectations. Through our church, schools and community activities I have been able to meet new people and reconnect with old friends. It has been an amazing year and with only a dozen or more sessions this year, I want to get the last few months of mini-sessions on the blog.

It has been a busy, terrific fall for me. I had many current clients come out and lots of new ones too! I am so grateful for referrals. They are the best compliment I can receive.

This fall I did mini-sessions at the Gregory Orchard, the farm and Pioneer Park.

This session started at her house with her dad warning us to "not take too long". It was Mike's birthday and Heather and the girls were taking him out to Red Lobster to celebrate is 50th birthday...okay is 40th. Sorry Mike, had to do it!

Mariah is unbelievably natural in front of the camera. We would hop out at a spot to shoot and she needed NO instruction from me.

We weren't even sure we would get it in. It was supposed to rain. Then wasn't. But just as we were winding down the cold autumn drizzle began.

You would think a toddler would immediately run for cover. Not Abby. She was content nearly the whole shoot to explore and be outside rain or shine. She was terrific!

We got some great shots and I hope to work with this family many more times in the future!

Pink.Cute.Wide-eyed.Adorable.

These are just a few words to describe the shoot I had last weekend with Ms "E" and Ms "O". We spent some time getting to know each other but it wasn't long before we were off and running. Literally.

Rebecca brought some fun little pink chairs and some of the girls favorite things. I know at this age it can seem as if it's chaos just chasing and shooting, repositioning and bribing, but at the end of the day...we got some keepers! And the images aren't too bad either...

Bungard's Fall 2010

We weren't able to beat the odds the first time around. 2 days of rain in the last 3 months and we picked one.

But we tried again last week and we had a great day. Dry, brown sunny. But beautiful none the less.

Ashtyn is yet another one of my senior "reps". I have known Ash long enough to remember when we called her "tiny feet". The Fisher family is as close to family as friends get.

I am so glad I got to shoot Ashtyn's senior sessions. We have done a few different little shoots for volleyball and to capture her grandma's beautiful spring flowers. We have some more plans to shoot in the spring as well. And just last weekend we were able to do a much bigger session with her boyfriend Grant out near his home in Eminence.

The Shupe's live on a farm and so the places to shoot were nearly endless. Grant's mom took us to a great bridge, open fields and Brett Fisher even found us some great "unused" spots!
Grant attends Eminence High School and loves basketball and of course he kinda likes Ashtyn too! But who wouldn't? Have you seen her?

Ashtyn is sweet, reliable and so much fun to be around.
And though I haven't spent tons of time with Grant, if Ashtyn likes him, he can't be too bad ;)

Monrovia H.S. Senior Eryn Dillon. Fall Session

The first time I met Eryn she was 8 years old and no bigger than a minute.
I was coaching 10U fastpitch and she was BY FAR the tiniest one on the team. It was her first year of fastpitch and my first year coaching. When I asked the girls who would like to try catching for our pitcher (who threw nearly 50mph as a ten year old and stood nearly 2x Eryn's size) a tiny little hand in the back of the crowd raised. It was Eryn.

She was a natural. She was fast, strong, and understood the game. Since then she has grown...a little :) I love watching her play! Our families have become great friends and I hope we have many more opportunities to hang out with the Dillons.

Eryn is an amazing young Christian woman with a terrific future ahead of her.

She is now in her senior year and made a verbal commitment over the summer to play softball at IUPUI next fall. Good luck Eryn!

Orchard Mini-session day 2010

We planned this day for more than a month.
10 sessions were booked (7 more families were turned away...:( )
The day started out cool and cloudy...great day to shoot.

We were able to get 3 sessions in before the rain came. I am hoping to do find a way to photograph the other families before the end of the year.

It's finally fall.

Someone needs to tell the leaves that though.

The Gregory orchard is an amazing location with or without orange and red leaves.

I met the Zimmerman's there last Thursday on a breezy and bright autumn afternoon. We spent a few minutes working on Eric's squinty eyes, but after some coaching and some "urging" from Jo-Beth, we were able to pick out his pupils beneath his brows :)

Peytan and Gavin were great to work with as well.

Before.During.After.The arrival of Oliver...

You may remember this...

Well, on September 21st at 10:50am Oliver came into this world after an amazing 9 minutes of pushing by his ALWAYS gorgeous mommy.

I had the honor of being there as he was born. It was one of the best moments in recent history for me. I have delivered three of my own, but to be there and and take all of it in without being the one doing the real work was inexplicable. I had an unbelievable perspective. I also now think that if I wasn't raising my own children and keeping up with my photography, I would have to be a delivery room nurse. What an awesome thing to experience day in and day out. How you cannot believe in a Creator God after having seen that is beyond me.

April and Alex's families were terrific. The doctor and nurses were great. The day was in a word...BEAUTIFUL.

Thanks for asking me to capture these unforgettable moments. I treasure the experience.

And finally, here is Oliver at 3 days old. We shot these at the Kolb's and the usual joy and excitement joined us. These speak for themselves. I hope to photograph this family as they grow for years to come.

When Dana's mom contacted me a few months back about doing a special session with Dana I thought it was a great idea! She just turned 13 and Deanna wanted to celebrate the occasion with some images taken of Dana.

I have had the privilege of knowing Dana and her family for the last few years. She was still a little girl when our families joined the same small group. She is quiet, shy, sweet and innocent. She is also growing into a wonderful young woman.

She came with some props...my favorite was the animal hat...so cool!

These two are about as adorable as it gets.

I have photographed Kurtiss in family sessions and both he and Olivia last spring before they headed out to their Junior prom. Last Sunday we jumped around in Monrovia to get shots for their senior sessions.

Thanks to great weather, a couple of horses, a leather jacket and an assistant with LOTS of "ideas" (just hold the reflector ok Dylan!?)

Klein Family...

I am pretty sure you cannot take a bad picture of any one in this family. With their gorgeous eyes, fair skin and terrific smiles, you can't go wrong!

Add in a touch of beautiful weather, a special spot to shoot and a family of five and you have the Klein's session!

When I first walked to their door, I noticed how striking and unique their home was. Then when Will and Kim came to the door I got a peak of the twins and a my new favorite subject...Ben. He was all personality. Inquisitive, active, and busy. A typical preschool boy.

I quickly found out our shoot location would literally be across the street a great park the family spends tons of time in. It was perfect. Lots of shade. A great breeze and friendly neighbors checking out the adorable twins and the crazy photographer trying to get the shot!

Fun.

This family loves spending time together.
I could tell from the first few moments of shooting, that this session would be interesting, fun, laid back and truly a time to capture what they were all about at this moment in their lives.

We did shoot some "traditional" shots, but once we got into what they love to do and found they had brought some great props with them...well, you can see!

When I first pulled up this family's session I was reminded at how well behaved both of these little guys were during the entire shoot.

Then when I started proofing image by image, I was reminded at how beautiful their eyes were and how much I wanted to squeeze little man's cheeks...he was so funny hopping in and out of the chest and running after his big brother.

Their red shirts went well with the funky red couch and they were super easy to work with! I hope I get more chances to photograph this beautiful young family as the boys grow. Thanks for hanging out with me and "circle man"!!

Schumacher Family

Just to reiterate, last Sunday was a gorgeous day to shoot!

The Schumacher's are a super photogenic family who was so easy to shoot I kept second guessing if I had forgotten some shots I needed to take. Megan has just had her Senior Session done a few weeks ago with Victor Maiquez of Marci Ralph Photography, so she was already trained. Heidi though not real enthused to wake up before noon on a Sunday (per her mother) was adorable as well! It is safe to say the girls good looks could be attributed to either mom, dad or both.

Anyway you slice it, this was possibly one of the easiest shoots, physically, I have ever experienced. Thanks Schumacher's for making my job so easy!

A whole batch of great lookin' guys and two lovely ladies.

The Malone's. Back and wow how those boys have grown! Brian is nearly taller than both mom and dad. Tyler was so willing to do whatever we asked and we even got him to hold still for a few! Carter is full of energy, smiles and who can resist those baby blues?

We let them jump on the couch, sit on the "treasure chest" and just generally be be boys. We got some great shots and had a perfect session!

I was so glad when Ashley sent me a message back in July about doing a session with her family again. Her daughter Liv and Maci have played softball and basketball together the last few years and she is such a sweetheart! Ashley also mentioned 4 other families that were interested as well so we made a day of it.

We ended up with amazing weather and started the day off with their family. We broke out a couch I have had stored in the barn for months hoping it would come in handy this fall as the summer colors fade. It worked out great and added something unique to everyone's session.

As you can see Ms. Olivia is quite natural on the other side of the lens, so we went with it! Devon's no slouch himself, though he likes to pretend he's shy.

Thanks Doug and Ashley for letting me sneak some great family moments and capture them!
